Well Fox did screw up Firefly by their choices in promoting the show
and how to start it up.
Here they go...
BS.  I'm not Whedonite. I like his previous work so I'll check out his
new work to see if it is worth watching. I'll look further into Cabin
in the Woods because of who is involved (in addition to Joss) but I'm
not sold on the concept based on the ads. That makes it seem too much
like a well traveled path.
*Ignore* the ads!  I had the same assumptions about it.  I was fairly
sure it was a remake of an earlier movie but I was wrong. This is *not*
a retread of what's come before.
Here's a review that does a pretty job of discussing the movie without

I guess you never watched The Good Guys. A series that Whitford did
with Colin Hanks (Tom Hanks kid) last year. They were two local
detectives in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Colin played a typical young
up-and-coming cop while Whitford played a detective that was stuck in
the 80s in a lot of ways. Still driving his old Trans Am and still
living in his trailer sort of like Jim Rockford except Whitford's
character lived on a parking lot while Rockford had the good sense to
live on a beach.

Rockford lived on a parking lot in the first season.
